We’ve always known that Points is a great place to work, but now, we can proudly capitalize the first letter of each of those words. Points is officially a Great Place to Work® — we were named on Great Place to Work® Institute Canada’s 2015 list of the Best Workplaces in Canada: Medium, and also received the recognition as one of the Best Workplaces for Women.
Putting our people first and supporting their growth, both personally and professionally, has always been a core part of our vision. When they founded Points 15 years ago, our current CEO and President, Rob and Christopher, knew that building a great company was as important as building a successful business, and that the two are dependent on each other.
A delegation of 10 Points employees attended the Great Place to Work® awards gala on April 9, where President Christopher Barnard accepted our awards on behalf of the company. Though the room of nominees was large, credible sources report that the Points table had the loudest cheer when he walked up to the stage.
Christopher credited our employees for helping the company receive this exciting recognition. “None of this would have been possible without the fantastic people who have helped grow our business along the way,” he said. “Through the years we have built a hard-working, collaborative and innovative culture for sure. But above all else, it’s always been fun. That is a testament to every one of us.” He added, “Tonight’s award is some well-deserved external recognition for what I think we already knew.”
Chief People Officer Inez Murdoch agreed. “Winning this award is the result of all of the dedicated Pointsters who have helped to create our company culture, now recognized as one of the best in the country,” she said.
Arriving just a few months after our being named one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures of 2014, this new distinction confirms that we are succeeding in one of our most important goals: to be a place that our people truly enjoy coming to each day.
