Winter has been a season of giving at the office, as we continue to strive for good corporate citizenship. In one of our most recent ventures, Points employees scoured their kids’ closets and equipment bags for gently-used and outgrown sports uniforms, which we donated to Second Kicks. Together, we collected three large boxes of uniforms for this great local charity.
Second Kicks is dedicated to helping children, youth, and families in disadvantaged communities gear up to play soccer, one uniform at a time. They collect gently used soccer uniforms and equipment, and create a “game in a box,” including uniforms, shoes and soccer balls. They then distribute these boxes to needy players, both within Canada and around the world.
With the help of local volunteers, donated clothing and equipment will be sorted here in Toronto at one of Second Kicks’ sort days, and are shipped throughout the year. We’re proud to help Second Kicks support the love of soccer by enabling all children to participate in the game.
Special thanks go to Mihnea Galeteanu, a Product Manager at Points, who organized this year’s uniform drive. To learn more about Second Kicks, or to donate money, uniforms, or equipment to the cause, visit their website.
