What’s your favourite thing about working at Points?
That I get to work on products geared towards saving people money everyday, and I get to wear jeans doing it!
Are there any projects you’re working on right now that you can tell us about?
We just finished a major overhaul of the Points Business Solutions product set to ensure we’re in the position to support our merchant partners and sales team appropriately when we talk about the two major products we have in market. PointsConnect and PointsSelect are fantastic products, and we now have great names to work with, proper product positioning statements, and appropriate reasoning behind our team decisions.
At middle management level, I expect to contribute to a project like a re-brand. But at Points, I got to own the entire project start to finish.
What’s the best thing you’ve ever done with loyalty points/miles?
I really like that with most banking programs, you can redeem for financial rewards. I have saved thousands of dollars on my mortgage, just by earning points on my credit card.
What does a day in your life at Points look like for you?
Busy – but interesting. I support so many different areas of our product life-cycle that it’s hard to keep my action items straight at times. I’m never bored, and get to work with a good portion of the entire Points team on a regular basis.
What is one thing that you can’t live without?
A sweater. I am always cold, no matter what time of year.
If you could eat or drink one thing endlessly without any negative consequences, what would it be?
Anything carb related. Pasta, bread, cake. You name it. I want to eat it.
What three unique things would we find on your desk right now?
A half eaten bowl of Cheerios, sales collateral from the latest print run, and the latest picture of my kids at the park.
What is the best trip you’ve ever taken?
My honeymoon to Belize was amazing. The resort we stayed at was eco-friendly, flexible on booking day trips and had a 5 star restaurant. The weather was perfect too!
