As the marketing services team’s Content and Research Associate, Daniel Reed wears many hats — and he wears them well. He works on projects across the business, from the design and implementation of surveys, to managing B2B marketing projects, to programming this very blog post. An avid fan of sports, cinema, and music, he’s a sought-out source around the office for restaurant recommendations, movie reviews, Raptors punditry, and all things #trending. What’s your favorite thing about working at Points?

People here are helpful and respectful in every area. They work hard to create a caring and supportive environment that is lacking in most businesses. You can approach anyone and have a great chat and still know that they are committed to working hard.

What are you working on right now?

I am helping create and grow the content and messaging for some of our B2B solutions, as well as ensuring that their marketing projects run smoothly.

What three unique things would we find on your desk right now?

Mint tea, headphones, and a Toronto Blue Jays piggy bank.

What’s your favorite place to eat near the Toronto office?

Arepa Cafe. Great community vibe and tasty Venezuelan treats. Latin American ease in an increasingly fast-paced lunch scene.

What’s one thing people probably don’t know about your job?

I tend to do a wide range of administrative work for the marketing department. From project management to programming blog posts, I am always spreading my wings!

Tell us something surprising about yourself.

I used to call play-by-play for basketball games when I was in university.

What is the best trip you’ve ever taken?

I took a trip with my parents and sister to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands in 2010. Time does not exist in the Galapagos.

What’s your greatest weakness?

Probably my hearing because I listen to music at a very loud volume.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island, what three movies would you bring?

The Godfather, Trouble Every Day, and Do The Right Thing.

What makes Points different from other companies you have worked at?

They are constantly innovating and growing new ideas. Everyone is always on the lookout to get better and more efficient every day. Yet, the human touch is never lost along the way!

What profession, other than your current one, would you like to try?

Author of award-winning literature.

What’s your favorite way to spend a Friday night?

Dinner with my family while watching basketball or baseball, catching a hot new film in theatres, and then going dancing with friends.

Describe your favorite pair of shoes.

I pretty much always and only wear an assortment of low-top Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars. However, I used to wear a pair of Air Jordan 11s when I was in grade school and would get mad whenever someone stepped on them.
