Brian, Director of Software Engineering, joined Points 5 years ago as a development team lead. He’s responsible for people, process and technologies: growing the team, refining its processes, and always finding ways to do things better. If there’s one thing you should know about Brian, it’s that he never backs down from a challenge, whether it’s work-related, sports-related… or even when it involves consuming a 2.6-pound steak in one sitting. Are you ready to meat meet this month’s Featured Pointster?

The Burger’s Priest. Be sure to try the Vatican 🙂

Tell us something surprising about yourself.

I love food challenges. The last one I did was eating a whole 42-ounce steak. I did finish it but I can say I didn’t feel so good afterwards.

Pick one program and stick with it until you reach your target redemption.

Earlier this year I took a trip to Spain with some friends to knock of a few things off the bucket list. Running with a bull, check. Racing cars on a pro track, check.

What is one thing you can’t live without?

My phone, it’s become my personal assistant. It keeps me organized and tells me where I need to be and when.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island, what three movies would you bring?

Armageddon, Zoolander, and The Usual Suspects.

What makes Points different from other companies you have worked at?

What sets Points apart is a strong belief in the idea that a company’s culture is as important as the work it does.

What profession, other than your current one, would you like to try?

Race-car driving. (The photo above is me at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya race track.)

What’s your favorite way to spend a Friday night?

With a bag of popcorn and a movie or catching up on TV.
