In early 2015, Points partnered with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) as part of our corporate social responsibility initiative, Points for Good. To date, we’ve gifted over 9 million airline miles to help subsidize MSF’s extensive travel costs — so they can dedicate more time and money to delivering emergency medical aid to those who need it the most.

Our miles donations have brought huge cost savings to MSF, and allowed staff and field workers to travel to international meetings, training and conferences, and take emergency flights to Guatemala and Tokyo.

We were lucky enough to hear about the effects of our donations firsthand from Stephen Cornish, Executive Director at MSF Canada, and Sharla Bonneville, Water & Sanitation Manager and Logistician, who visited our office to lead a Lunch & Learn about MSF.

Pointsters learned about MSF’s worldwide impact and some of the complex assignments that Sharla has taken on, including vaccination campaigns and emergency relief efforts in Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, the Philippines, and South Sudan. Points’ employees left the session feeling proud of our contribution, and motivated to get more involved in the program.

To end the lunch, our VP of Marketing, Danielle Brown, presented a giant cheque to Stephen with an additional donation of 2.25 million miles! We are extremely proud to be able to contribute to this amazing organization and donate miles that will be used to do so much good.
